Government should now get on with wild animal circus ban - Maria Eagle

Maria Eagle MP, Shadow Environment Secretary, responding to the Government’s response to the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs Committee report on Wild Animals in Circuses, said:

“Ministers should now get on with introducing the legislation necessary to ban the use of all wild animals in circuses, a reform backed by the vast majority of the British people and already supported in a vote of the House of Commons. It is not good enough that Ministers are unwilling to introduce a ban before December 2015 and there is no reason why this important reform cannot be in place before the next election.”
