Chief Medical Officer's annual report on child health is deeply worrying - Berger
Luciana Berger MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Public Health, responding to the Chief Medical Officer’s annual report today on child health, said:
“This report is deeply worrying and is a stark reminder of how this Tory-led Government have completely lost their way on public health.
"The Chief Medical Officer has today highlighted the importance of reducing levels of smoking and tackling childhood obesity, but David Cameron has caved in to big tobacco and vested interests and 41 organisations have quit the Government’s public health responsibility deal.
"Ministers need to wake up and take urgent action or we risk sleepwalking towards a future where our children live shorter and unhealthier lives than their parents.”
