Vernon Coaker MP Labour’s Shadow Defence Secretary,  speaking on the launch of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal today, said:
 
“I pay tribute to the Royal British Legion for the work they do for our Armed Forces, past and present, and their families. Labour is committed to supporting that work, and values the role of our Armed Forces community.
 
“The launch of the Poppy Appeal marks the start of an important period when we remember service and sacrifice. It is a chance for all of us to show, together as a nation, our gratitude. I will wear my Poppy with pride, and I know everyone across the country will too.”
