Stronger penalties welcome but Ministers must do more to prevent dangerous dog attacks – Huw Irranca-Davies
Huw Irranca-Davies MP, Labour’s Shadow Environment Minister, responding to the decision to increase the maximum penalties for owners whose dogs are dangerously out of control, said:
“Stronger maximum penalties for owners whose dogs are dangerously out of control are right, but the Government must also do more to prevent attacks in the first place. Ministers should drop their opposition to the introduction of Dog Control Notices, proposed by Labour to urgently address the rising tide of injuries and deaths through dog attacks.”
