NAO report exposes the failure of one of Cameron’s flagship policies to boost house building - Emma Reynolds
Emma Reynolds MP, Labour’s Shadow Housing Minister, responding to the Public Accounts Committee report which calls for an urgent review of the New Homes Bonus, said:
“This damning report exposes the failure of one of David Cameron’s flagship policies to boost house building, as well as the incompetence at the heart of Government.
“Both the National Audit Office and the Public Accounts Committee have questioned whether this policy works at all, the fairness of its distribution and have slammed Ministers for failing to monitor whether the policy is delivering.
“This shambolic approach explains why the Government is presiding over the lowest level of homes built since the 1920s.”
