Chuka Umunna MP, Labour’s Shadow Business Secretary, commenting on the Forum of Private Business “Cost of Doing Business” report, said:

“This survey reveals the true extent of David Cameron’s cost of living crisis, hitting businesses just as hard as it hits families. 87 per cent of businesses report energy costs have gone up and 83 per cent are worried that costs will rise further over the next year. While David Cameron stands up for the wrong people, Labour’s would cut and freeze business rates to help 1.5 million shops and small businesses across Britain, while our energy price freeze would save British businesses £1,800 on average.”
