The Government needs to do more now to encourage firms to set out clear policies for increasing boardroom diversity so that we reach the 2015 target- Gloria De Piero
Gloria De Piero MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities responding to the latest progress report on Women on FTSE Boards from Cranfield University, said:
“This is welcome news, however we need to ensure that the progress made is not exclusively in non-executive appointments. More women on boards and more women in executive positions leads to better decision making and is better for businesses all round.
“The Government needs to do more now to encourage firms to follow the lead of companies like Rolls Royce and set out clear policies for increasing boardroom diversity so that we reach the 2015 target.”
