NAO report response - we've seen with a whole host of welfare reforms this is a Government that talks the talk but doesn't deliver - Rachel Reeves

Rachel Reeves MP, Labour’s Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, responding to a National Audit Office report on Programmes to help families facing multiple challenges, said:

“Concerted and coordinated action to tackle worklessness is crucial to getting the benefits bill under control but as we’ve seen with Universal Credit, the Work Programme and a whole host of welfare reforms this is a Government that talks the talk but doesn’t deliver.

“This damning report supplies yet more evidence of the chaos and waste at the Department for Work and Pensions. We will all pay a price for a long time to come for David Cameron’s failure to get a grip of this failing department.”
