Julie Elliott MP, Labour’s Shadow Energy and Climate Change Minister, commenting ahead of a statement on levels of support for renewable energy, said:

“David Cameron will be judged on his record on green energy investment - which is that it has halved on his watch.

“Any changes to support for clean energy must deliver value for money for consumers and encourage firms to invest in Britain. But if Government wants to reverse the disastrous decline in investment in clean energy since 2010, they should back Labour’s plans to set a clear target to decarbonise the power sector by 2030.”
