Jon Ashworth MP, Labour’s Shadow Cabinet Office Minister, responding to comments made by Number 10 Policy Board member Nadhim Zahawi MP, said:

“With families struggling to get on the housing ladder and communities rural and urban struggling under David Cameron’s cost of living crisis, we desperately need a Government with a plan to stand up for working people. But what we’ve got is a Tory party fighting amongst itself over the mess they’re making of running the country.

“The fact that even MPs from David Cameron’s own policy board are criticising the direction he’s taking the country in shows that this is a PM who is not just out of touch, but one who is too weak even to control his own party.”
