Caroline Flint MP, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, commenting on E.ON’s price rise, which comes into force on Saturday and will add £48 to the average dual fuel bill, said:
“Millions of people will today start paying the price for David Cameron’s failure to stand up to the energy companies. Rising energy bills are contributing to a cost of living crisis. But instead of helping ordinary bill-payers, David Cameron is more interested in defending the energy giants.
"Labour’s price freeze would save money for 27 million households and 2.4 million businesses and our reforms to the energy market will deliver fairer prices in the future.”
