Osborne has refused to rule out another top rate tax cut for people on over £150,000 - Chris Leslie
Chris Leslie MP, Labour’s Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, responding to George Osborne’s comments at Treasury Questions in response to a question on the top rate of tax being cut again to 40p, said:
“While ordinary working people are worse off George Osborne has refused to rule out another top rate tax cut for people on over £150,000.
“Asked by Ed Balls whether he wanted to cut taxes for the richest one per cent again, the Chancellor pointedly refused to answer.
“The choice is now clear. Labour will help ordinary families and balance the books in the next Parliament in a fairer way. The Tories are so out of touch they want to cut taxes again for the very richest while everyone else faces a cost-of-living crisis.”
