Andy Slaughter comments on this afternoon’s Westminster Hall debate on sufferers of mesothelioma
Andy Slaughter MP, Labour’s Shadow Justice, commenting on this afternoon’s Westminster Hall debate on sufferers of mesothelioma, said:
“The Tory Government has shamefully betrayed some of the most vulnerable victims of negligence by employers. Mesothelioma sufferers are condemned to a painful and sudden death often decades after coming into contact with asbestos, usually at work.
“After promising to treat them and their families sympathetically, the Government has gone back on its word and is proposing to restrict their ability to claim compensation. Together with colleagues from all parties I shall will be asking the Justice Minister to think again. This is more than just a legal issue, it is a moral outrage”
