Tristram Hunt MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, responding to Michael Gove’s article on classroom discipline, said:
“Cameron and Gove have dropped the ball on discipline. Their decision to allow unqualified teachers into the classroom on a permanent basis means we have teachers who lack the training that is required to keep order. This is damaging standards in our schools. They should end this practice and commit to Labour’s pledge to ensure all teachers are qualified and have the training they need to control behaviour in the classroom.”
