Gloria De Piero MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities said:

“It’s clear that women’s voices are being shut out of Cameron and Clegg’s boys’ club Cabinet. And his failure to act means David Cameron’s women problem looks set to grow.

"Just 28 per cent of the Tories’ Parliamentary candidates selected so far are women. With over 50 per cent of its candidates women, Labour is the only Party committed to creating a politics which looks like the country we seek to serve.

"Right across David Cameron’s Government - from senior civil servants to ambassadors, and in cabinet committees - women are being ignored for top posts.”
