Kevan Jones MP comment on the Army Families Federation Working Hours Survey

Kevan Jones MP, Labour’s Shadow Armed Forces Minister, commenting on the Army Families Federation Working Hours Survey, said:

“This latest report from the AFF shows that 64 per cent of soldiers are regularly working over 10 hours a day, almost half are having to work weekends, and that only 24 per cent of soldiers’ families believe they are striking a good work-life balance.

“From this report it is clear that our Armed Forces and their families simply do not believe that the Government is doing enough to help establish a better work-life balance for military personnel.

"The Defence Secretary must act urgently to prevent this worrying loss of morale amongst our Armed Forces and their families.”
