Ivan Lewis MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, in response to the Prime Minister’s announcement of a Judge-led inquiry into the ‘On The Run’ scheme, said:

“We have welcomed the PSNI, NIO and Police Ombudsman reviews into the ‘On-The-Run’ administrative scheme and we believe that the government’s announcement today to initiate a Judge-led inquiry is a logical and sensible way forward. We will fully support the work of this inquiry as it works towards publication in May.”
