Andrew Gwynne MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Minister, responding to the report from the NHS Confederation on resolving the challenges in England’s A&Es, said:
“With this report, experts are again reminding David Cameron how he’s piled pressure on England’s A&E. He made it harder to see your GP, closed Walk-in Centres and cut older people’s social care support to the bone – forcing people to the doors of A&E. Sadly, they are right to warn that the situation is no longer sustainable.
“Labour supports the joined up approach called for in this report. But this can only happen when Ministers take responsibility for the damage they have caused and begin to reverse it.”
