Jamie Reed MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Minister, responding to reports that a billion NHS records have been sold, said:

“Ministers have so far failed to reassure patients that their data will not be misused and they dismissed Labour’s plans for tougher penalties.

"Unless the Government gets a grip on the care data scheme - which could potentially have real benefits for patients - it will be increasingly at risk of failing.”
