Gloria De Piero MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities, responding to the NCT Report findings that by 2015 new parents will lose out by £224 over the course of their maternity or paternity leave, said:

“David Cameron and Nick Clegg should be focusing on supporting new parents, but instead mums are some of the hardest hit by the Tories’ cost of living crisis. Labour will support working mums and dads by providing 25 hours free childcare for three and four year olds and we’ll guarantee breakfast and after school clubs from 8am to 6pm for for every primary school to help parents juggle work and childcare.”
