Confirmation that it’s getting harder to get a GP appointment under David Cameron - Burnham
Andy Burnham MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Secretary, responding to the Royal College of GPs’ warning on deteriorating primary care, said:

“We now have confirmation that it’s getting harder to get a GP appointment under David Cameron. It is simply unacceptable that any patient has to wait up to a week.

“This is putting patients at risk and flies in the face of personal promises made by the Prime Minister.

“Hospital A&Es have now missed the target for 35 weeks running. It is clear that this in part explained by people’s difficulty in getting a timely GP appointment. It makes no sense whatsoever to cut primary care only to spend much more on treatment in hospitals.

“David Cameron has caused a serious deterioration in the quality of primary care. It is proof you can’t trust him with the NHS”.
