The scale of David Cameron’s failure on the NHS is revealed today in new official figures which show the highest number of patients waiting longer than 4 hours in A&E in a decade and record numbers of patients being admitted to A&E.
Figures out today from NHS England show:
Andrew Gwynne MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Minister, said:
“2013/14 has been the worst year in a decade in A&E and shows that David Cameron is taking the NHS backwards.
“David Cameron promised he’d protect the NHS, but he wasted billions on an unnecessary re-organisation, inflicted deep cuts on social care and made it harder to see a GP - all the ingredients for the current pressures in A&E.
“There’s only one person responsible for the A&E crisis, and that’s David Cameron.
“It is yet further proof that you cannot trust the Tories with the NHS.”
