The Government should stop dragging its feet and get on with banning wild animals in circuses - Maria Eagle

Maria Eagle MP, Shadow Environment Secretary, responding to Animal Defenders International’s open letter to the Prime Minister calling for the Government to ban wild animals in circuses, said:

“Ministers should now get on with introducing the legislation necessary to ban the use of all wild animals in circuses, a reform backed by the vast majority of the British people and already supported in a vote of the House of Commons. With the Government’s legislative agenda looking sparse it is not good enough that Ministers are unwilling to legislate immediately.”
