Jon Ashworth MP, Labour’s Shadow Cabinet office Minister, responding to Jeremy Browne MP’s comments about the Liberal Democrats said:   “Jeremy Browne has revealed the truth about his party: a vote for the Lib Dems is the same as a vote for the Tories. "All Nick Clegg and the Lib Dems have done in government is prop up David Cameron. They’ve broken their promises, joining with the Tories to give millionaires a tax break while hardworking families face a cost-of-living crisis. "Their decision to treble tuition fees after campaigning against a rise showed there was no principle they weren’t prepared to junk in return for a seat at David Cameron’s table. Now we hear they may put them up even further, another cruel blow to those people who took Nick Clegg to be a man of his word.
