Kevin Brennan MP, Labour’s Shadow Schools Minister, commenting on the Ofsted Inspection at Greenwich Free School, said:

“This is yet more evidence of the damaging impact of David Cameron’s Free School programme – and from a flagship school that Michael Gove himself has regularly singled out for praise.

“The complete lack of oversight for Free Schools means that underperformance goes unchecked for far too long. Meanwhile, David Cameron’s policy of allowing unqualified teachers into our classrooms leads to poor standards.

“Labour will end the practice of employing unqualified teachers on a permanent basis and introduce a proper system of local oversight for all schools.”
