Kevan Jones response to Combat Stress report
Kevan Jones MP, Labour’s Shadow Armed Forces minister, responding to a report showing a significant increase in the number of UK veterans of the Afghan conflict seeking mental health treatment, said:
“Combat Stress and other charities do great work in supporting our veterans but they have expressed concerns about their ability to meet the high demand for their services.
"The Ashcroft Review recommended a series of measures to help service personnel transition to civilian life, including support for those dealing with mental health issues. The government should implement the recommendations and ensure it is upholding the Armed Forces Covenant when it comes to the well-being of those leaving service.”
