Sadiq Khan MP, Labour’s Shadow Justice Secretary, responding to the PAC report on the Government’s probation privatisation, said:

“This is yet another damning report on the Government’s reckless and half-baked probation privatisation. David Cameron’s Government is rushing headlong into signing huge ten year contracts with global multinational companies with no track record of rehabilitating offenders.

“It is also astonishing that no Government minister is able to say how much this will cost to deliver. Given this is a huge gamble with public safety, David Cameron should shelve these plans.”
