Loss of thousands of district nurses under Cameron has been felt in every community - Andrew Gwynne

Andrew Gwynne MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Minister, responding to the Royal College of Nursing’s warning on district nurse shortages, said:

“The loss of thousands of district nurses under David Cameron has been felt in every community. Fewer elderly people are now receiving support at home that helped them stay living independently.

“The NHS is forced to pick up the tab and is now spending hundreds of millions on keeping people in hospital when they don’t need to be there, money that would be better spent on nursing staff and more support at home.

“It is more proof you can’t trust David Cameron with the NHS.”
