Comment on the launch of the 'Lights Out' project- Dan Jarvis
Dan Jarvis MP, Labour’s lead on the First World War centenary, commenting on the launch of ‘Lights Out’ - a project to encourage people to turn off their lights between 10 and 11pm on 4th August, said:
“The moment when Britain entered the First World War on 4th August 1914 changed our country forever.
"In today’s busy and frantic world, the simple act of people pausing to switch off their lights, reflect and light a single candle will be a powerful tribute to those who served and sacrificed for us a century ago.
"In this important year of remembrance, I hope people across the country will join in with the Lights Out project on 4th August and help keep their memory burning brightly.”
