This is a worrying jump in inflation, yet Cameron continues to deny there's a cost-of-living crisis - McKinnell

Catherine McKinnell MP, Labour’s Shadow Treasury Minister, responding to today’s inflation figures, said:

“This is a worrying jump in inflation, yet David Cameron continues to deny there’s a cost-of-living crisis.

“As the IFS says today people have seen a substantial fall in their income since 2010. Wages after inflation have now fallen by over £1,600 a year under this government. Ken Clarke was clearly right to say what David Cameron and George Osborne refuse to admit - most people aren’t feeling any recovery.

“Labour’s plan will deal with the cost-of-living crisis, make Britain better off and earn our way to higher living standards for all, not just a few.”
