Responding to Laura Sandys’ warning to David Cameron that the ‘economic recovery is not just about the centre of London, or even rich Canterbury’, Michael Dugher MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office said:

“David Cameron and his party are running scared of UKIP. This damaging parting shot shows that even Cameron’s own MPs have lost confidence in his leadership.

"On the issues that matter to working people, the Tories have let the country down. They are haemorrhaging members and David Cameron is increasingly pandering to his right wing.

"Laura Sandys has laid bare what hardworking families know already: in the real world there is a cost-of-living crisis and the government is failing to improve living standards for all.”
