Sadiq Khan MP, Labour’s Shadow Justice Secretary, responding to reports of an ‘overhaul’ of Freedom of Information rules, said:

“This 11th hour conversion to extending Freedom of Information legislation doesn’t go far enough. Labour has already committed to extend the law so it covers the delivery of public services by private companies such as in the NHS, education and prisons.

"David Cameron has failed to improve transparency by strengthening Freedom of Information rules and only Labour will rectify that.”
