Lucy Powell MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Childcare and Children, responding to the Family and Childcare Trust’s Out of School, Out of Mind? report on the battle parents face to find after school childcare said: 

“Families facing a cost-of-living crisis have seen childcare costs go through the roof as availability has plummeted and David Cameron has cut support to help make work pay.

"Labour will tackle the childcare crunch by introducing a Primary Childcare Guarantee to ensure parents and children can access good quality before and after school care at their local school or nearby. This will help parents manage the logistical nightmare of finding before and after school care that fits with work and family life."
