Barry Gardiner MP, Labour’s Shadow Environment Minister, responding to the Environmental Audit Committee’s Environment Scorecard Inquiry report, said:

“Our environment is deteriorating when it should be improving. David Cameron promised to lead the ‘greenest Government ever’ but the past four and a half years have been a disaster for the environment. Despite the Tory-led Government’s attempt to remove all scrutiny of their record, the evidence is written across this report: our air is more polluted, more homes are at significant risk of flooding and more species are on the brink because of David Cameron’s failure.”
