Jonathan Reynolds MP, Labour’s Shadow Energy and Climate Change Minister, commenting on reports that the Green Deal Finance Company has privately warned investors that it could be wound up, said:
“This is a very worrying development and a damning indictment of the Tories’ failing energy efficiency policy.
“Labour has always said that the Green Deal must be a good deal, but sky high interest rates have proved a massive barrier to take-up. That’s why this week Labour announced that we will offer up to 1 million interest free loans in the next Parliament for energy efficiency home improvements, as part of a package of measures to end the scandal of cold homes.”
