David Hanson MP, Labour’s Shadow Immigration Minister, said:
“The Tories and the Liberal Democrats are in it together- whether it’s on weakening counter-terror powers, inaction on changing crime, or even their failed net migration target.
"Theresa May’s rhetoric often clashes with reality. The Home Secretary was right to say we need more action to tackle terrorism and child abuse, but the Liberal Democrats didn’t force her to scrap control orders and weaken counter-terror powers, nor did they force Theresa May to no longer bar 10,000 child sex offenders from working with children.
"These were the Tory-led Government’s decisions, endorsed by David Cameron and enthusiastically supported by Nick Clegg’s Liberal Democrats.”
